Sarum Systems designs, installs and maintains CCTV across Great Dunmow and out to Takeley and the Stansted Airport side of the A120. That covers new-build homes on St Mary's Park, Maplewood Grove and Sapphire Fields, older properties around the High Street and Market Place, and commercial units on the Flitch, Hoblongs and Chelmsford Road industrial estates. We fit Hikvision equipment, survey for free, and you deal with the engineer who will do the work. Our team is based in Harlow, and maintained systems get an engineer on site within three hours.
HD & 4K camera systems with remote viewing, recording and smart motion alerts.
Wired & wireless intruder alarms, monitored and app-connected, fitted to BS EN 50131.
Keypad, fob and door-entry systems that control exactly who goes where.
Fire detection and alarm systems designed, installed and serviced to BS 5839.
Great Dunmow is really two towns in one. The old centre along the High Street, Market Place and New Street sits inside a conservation area with more than 150 listed buildings, so a camera bracket on a historic front is a planning question before it is a wiring question. Around that core the town has grown quickly. Woodlands Park, the new streets off Stortford Road and the phases at Great Dunmow Grange have added hundreds of homes, with more approved west of Woodside Way. Takeley has gone the same way, with Priors Green to the east of the village and newer streets at Prior's Edge and Trinity Green. Commercial sites cluster along Chelmsford Road, a couple of minutes from the A120, which links straight to the M11 and Stansted. That is useful for businesses and equally useful for anyone who wants to be away from a yard quickly at night. External fittings have to respect local rules, and we always work to the guidance published by Uttlesford District Council.
On a new-build at St Mary's Park, Maplewood Grove or Sapphire Fields, the usual brief is two to four cameras covering the drive, the front door and the side gate, all viewable on your phone. We run cables through the loft and existing voids where we can, keep fixings to the minimum the bracket needs, and leave the job tidy enough that it never complicates your snagging list or a warranty conversation with the builder. Check your management company rules first, because some estates restrict what goes on the front elevation. In the conservation area we use smaller, colour-matched cameras and talk through whether consent is needed before anything goes up. On the Flitch and Hoblongs estates we put identification cameras on gates and personnel doors, so plates and faces are readable, with wider views covering the yard.
Great Dunmow and Takeley have taken more new housing than almost anywhere else in Uttlesford, so a lot of our work here is on homes that are only months old. If you have just moved in, we fit cameras once snagging is done, run cables through the loft and keep fixings to the minimum, so nothing complicates the builder's warranty.
